THE LARGER PICTURE A Lesson on Humility

Huzefa: Hey Ajay, I have been meaning to ask you something.

Ajay: Shoot!

Huzefa: I have seen this globe in your cabin, and last day I saw you looking at it. It got me so curious. What on earth could you be looking at on a globe when you have all the information about every nook and corner of the earth on your phone?

Ajay: Hahaha! I’m glad you asked this. Let me show you. On this globe, try to locate the exact spot we are in now.

Huzefa: How’s that possible? It would be a very tiny spot on this globe, probably invisible to our eyes.

Ajay: Exactly. This globe tells us that we are tiny beings who are individually insignificant in the larger scheme of things. But at the same time, collectively, the human race has revolutionised the world, isn’t it? Tells you a lot about the power of the team. So, looking at the globe is simultaneously a humbling experience as well as a proud moment.

Huzefa: That’s amazing! It really puts things in perspective.

Ajay: It’s a very spiritual experience. You try it out too. In fact, every aspiring entrepreneur should. Because only the globe lets you view the earth in its entirety, reminding you to think about the larger picture. It tells you about the distances we can cover if we work together as a team. It shows you there’s a much larger world out there, so much more for us to see, so much more for us to learn and so much more for us to do. As Robert Frost wrote, miles and miles to go, my friend, miles and miles.
